The Grand Budapest HotelBerlin Film Festival is one of the most heavy weight film fests in the world. The 64th edition of the film festival will start rolling from today, 6th February 2014, and it will run through 16th of this month. The opening movie of this year’s festival will be Wes Anderson’s ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’.

The 11 day festival will screen more than 400 movies from all nooks of the globe. All the movies which will be shown in the festival will be impeccable in all aspects, and it will surely impress the audience who love uncompromising cinema. The jury team is led by US producer James Schamus, and he will be assisted by Barbara Broccoli, Trine Dyrholm, Mitra Farahani, Greta Gerwig, Michel Gondry, Tony Leung and Christoph Waltz.

Wight Swedish movies are also getting screened in this year’s Berlinale. Out of these eight films, five are features and it includes, ‘The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared’, ‘Concerning Violence’, ‘Broken Hill Blues’, ‘Beyond Beyond’ and ‘That Boy Emil’. The three short films which are getting screened are ‘Kalle Kran’, ‘My Friend Lag’e and ‘Out of this World’. All these movies from Sweden are of top notch quality, and it will surely proclaim the versatility of Swedish Films in front of the global audience.

Swedish Film World have something more to rejoice as Anna Serner, CEO of The Swedish Film Institute, will participate in a panel discussion on an event, arranged by EWA (European Women’s Audiovisual Network) together with Collegium Hungaricum Berlin, Hungary’s cultural institute in Berlin, dedicated to the current status of women in the audiovisual field. The event will take place at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin, Dorotheenstr. 12., Sunday February 9 at 3:00 PM.
