47th International Film Festival Rotterdam Begins Today
Rotterdam International Film Festival has a legacy of 46 years, and the festival is now an unquestionable event in the Global Film World. The 47th edition of this International Film Festival is all set to begin from today, January 22nd, and it will run through February 2nd 2014. The festival offers a pure visual treat for film lovers from all corners of the world, and every edition of the festival is witnessing more and more number of foreign visitors.
The opening ceremony will begin with a special preview of ‘Her’ directed by Spike Jones. The movie is already a critical success in all film festivals it got screened, and it is receiving highly positive reviews from all corners. The festival’s Tiger Awards Competitions, Bright Future and Spectrum sections contain recent recent movies from all corners of the world, and it includes many world premiers as well. The signal section will present retrospectives and themed programs.
The festival will witness the screenings of more than 100 films, and this includes movies from all nooks of the globe. Asian movies are also given special preference in the festival, and out of 15 films which are participating for the Tiger Awards, three movies are from Asia. They are Akira Ikeda’s Anatomy of a Paperclip, Lee Chatametikool’s Concrete Clouds and Lee Su-Jin’s Han Gong-Ju. From today, its going to be colorful nights for Rotterdam, and the city will witness all the colors of global cinema in its most exquisite manner.
