Alfonso Cuaron to Receive Visual Effects Society Visionary Award
Alfonso Cuaron, the ace director who made 2013 memorable with ‘Gravity’ will receive the Visionary Award at the 12th annual Visual Effects Society Awards on Feb. 12 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The award is considered as recognition of his career and for his impeccable directorial excellence he showed in Gravity.
“He has been at the forefront in using visual effects to tell remarkable, highly nuanced stories that change the way we think about what is possible to achieve,” said VES board chair Jeff Okun in a statement.
Gravity is considered as one of the most successful movies of 2013. The movie garnered highly positive critical acclaim, and the performance of lead actors and the making style were praised to a great extend. Cuaron is also the editor of the movie, and his slick cuts played a crucial role in making the movie slick to the core.
James Cuaron is now an unquestionable name in the global film world. He made his directorial debut in 1992 with Sólo Con Tu Pareja. His credits also include A Little Princess, Great Expectations and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
