‘Celluloid’ is flying High to Germany
‘Celluloid’, the Malayalam movie directed by Kamal starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mamta and Sreenivasan in the lead roles was a show stealer in India. The movie was opened to highly encouraging reviews in all the film festivals where it was screened, and the film played a crucial role in taking Indian Film World to new heights of success and glory.
The recent news about the film is regarding its German premier, where the movie will be screened in the New Generation Independent Indian Film Festival.
New Generation Independent Indian Film Festival is scheduled from 1st – 3rd November 2013, and this year will witness the fifth edition of the fest. Bringing the highlights of the Indian Cinema to Frankfurt, the film festival was well received by audience and critics alike in the previous four years. The festival will feature high quality movies and shorts, and this lineup includes some of the impeccable films from Germany as well.
Celluloid portrays the story of J C Daniel who is renowned as the father of Malayalam Cinema. Kamal, the director of the film have crafted the movie to perfection, and the realistic treatment of Daniel’s life was well received by audience and critics. Indian cinema which celebrates its 100 glorious years is flying over the rainbow, and the screening of Celluloid in various International Film festivals will increase this mileage for sure.
