Richard Gere to be honored at the San Francisco Film Festival
Richard Gere, renowned American actor and activist will be honored at the San Francisco Film Festival which will run from April 23rd – May 7th 2015. The festival organizers have decided to present him with its Peter J. Owens Award for excellence in acting. The award will be handed over at the Film Festival’s Film Society Award Night on April 27th.
Another major highlight of the festival is the screening of ‘Time Out of Mind’ directed by Oren Moverman on April 26th 2015. Richard Gere plays the role of a homeless man in the movie. Prior to the screening of the movie, the actor will take part in an on-stage interview which will be conducted at the Castro theater.

But when we saw his extraordinary performance in Time Out of Mind, we were instantly reminded of something else—that he is an intoxicatingly gifted actor, capable of extraordinary depth and subtlety. Richard Gere‘s upcoming film is Andrew Renzi’s, ‘Franny’. Apart from Gere, the film also stars Theo James and Dakota Fanning in other prominent roles.
